    Default Hicaps being blocked

    I can't get ZA to allow Hicaps terminal to talk to software management system. Have allowed 3 different ports (hyperlane-tcp and udp etc.) suggested by Hicaps but still no luck. Had IT person sit on my computer for 2 hrs with no luck (there goes $240). If anyone has suggestion much appreciated.
    Oh by the way hicaps is an eftpos machine that bills the health fund directly.

    It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country, without All the Details, without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..

    1.) What version of Windows? WX sp3? Vista ? Windows 7?

    2.) What version and type of Zone Alarm are you using? ZA Free, ZA Pro, ZA AV? ZA Suite? ZA Extreme? Version 7.0? 8.0? 9.0.083? 9.0.114?

    Hi there GeorgeV, sorry for my delay, The system is ZA security suite version 8 and I'm running XP with service pack 3. I have to turn off ZA to get the teminal to work.

    Thank you for your Feedback..
    A.) Make sure that all Related Hicaps Files that are listed in ZA Program Control / Programs page have three Green Checkmarks from the left, and Three Green Bars on Left..

    B.) you might also Upgrade ZA Security Suite to the Current Version 9.0.114.000

    The simplest procedure is to :

    1.Download the Latest installer preferably with IE Browser and no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right, Livewire, Bit-Torrent) and save it to your Hard drive.

    (MultiPlatform, installer will install on Both WinXP SP3 and Vista)

    2. Before you Uninstall your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview - Preferences tab)

    3. Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory

    4.) Now use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool: Click here http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

    Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

    Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

    5.) Now Install the new update (clean) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

    NOTICE: Please note that ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

    To troubleshoot ZASS/ZAXS issues removethe other Security programs and re-install them once you see that ZA works as it should.

    For example, the Following programs do not work well with ZoneAlarm, Norton/Symantec, McAfee,AVG, Spyspweeper, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...
