Default oh no! another SVCHOST question!

    Hi folks,

I've been running ZASS V8.0.4 on XP for a few months. The SVCHOST.EXE (Generic Host Process) security alert pops out of my sys tray every time I boot up Windows and then randomly (~30 minutes) while surfing normal websites (browser = Firefox or IExplore).

The ZASS security alert identification is "None" and the port is 135, 8590, 8849, 6675, etc. I click "Allow".

I thought I had the ZASS Program Control configured the way this forum suggested, with the Server-Internet field set to the blue '?'.

I know Port 135 is legitimate, but what about those others? Have I been granting server rights to malware??

P.S. *** BLEEP *** Violation of Forum "Terms of Use" Policy, methinks.

    Thank you!!!!!!!!

Here is my two cents worth..

NOTE: Make sure all of the following Programs have Trusted and Internet access (2 Green Check Marks)
:a.) All Microsoft and Windows Programs have Green Check marks for Trusted and Internet Access..
b.) Generic Host Process for win32 Services (svchost.exe) also allow Trusted Server Rights
c.) IE Crash Detectiond.) Internet Explorer or FireFoxe.)
    d.) Malicious Software Removal Tool
f.) True Vector Service (If it is listed)
    g.) Zone Alarm Client
    h.) Zone Alarm Updating Client
i.) Your Email Client needs Trusted, Internet access and Send Mail all need Green check Marks..
