    Default Cant get User Interface to display

    Protection is UP - UI is intializing

    No matter what I do I cannot get the User Interface to display?

    This Usually Means 1.) a Bad install, or 2.) Conflict with other Security Programs..

    UI is initialising when I hover over it, and never completes the Initializing procces,
    Usually indicate 1.) a Bad or incomplete Install of ZAISS or 2.) Too many other Security programs installed or conflict with Pre-installed Security programs..

    ZAISS will Automaticly Turn OFF Windows Firewall durring the Install process, but if you have any other pre-installed Firewall or Anti-Virus Security programs they must be Uninstalled first..

    ONLY one Firewall and One Anti-virus..

    NOTICE: Please note that ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

    To troubleshoot ZASS/ZAXS issues removethe other Security programs and re-install them once you see that ZA works as it should.

    For example, the Following programs do not work well with ZoneAlarm, Norton/Symantec, McAfee,AVG, Spyspweeper, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...

    Please Post back with your Progress Report..

    Default Can't get interface to display

    After installing and de-installing twice - I am close to giving up on Zone Alrm Extreme.

    I cannot get the user interface to display - it says

    Protection is UP - UI is intitalizing ....

    What about Microsoft Essentials?

    I am not even sure how to turn it off - or do I need deinstall this first?

    I know that topic is discussing ZASS and you have ZAES, but the principal is the same.

    I found several more topics which may provide some insight when I searched the forum.

    No offence but I am not going to do all the hard work to get a product up and running.

    I have uninstalled - turned off Windows Firewall etc and have no other av stuff - still get the stupid message.

    Hardly going to make me run out and buy the software if I cant even get the trial to start!!!

    No need to get mad... there are many solutions out there.
    Seems like ZA does not like your PC or vice versa.

    I am not mad - I am frustrated though - and frankly after having followed several supposed solutions and unistalling Microsoft Essentials - used remove tool for ZA and followed to the letter the install instructions - guess what?

    You guessed .... perhaps ZA team should have done some more work to prevent such inexcusable and frankly poor installers.

    Off to use remove tool for good and find an alternative software vendor for a firewall - one that actually allows the user to acces the program interface :-)

    Unless I missed something in this post.No OS mention.

    Known issues

    From Readme for ZoneAlarm 9.1

    Windows 7

    a. ZoneAlarm may fail to install on Windows 7 in VMWare and on some Intel network cards. Be sure to download the latest compatible Intel driver from Intel or ensure your VM or machine are dual core.

    b. With ZoneAlarm installed, upgrading from Microsoft Vista to Windows 7 is not supported. ZoneAlarm will not run properly after this particular operating system upgrade.

    Sorry it does not work for you. Works fine here and for many other users... it is always good to try the software before buying it. So you can make a reasoned decision
