Default ZA Extreme, Browser, and Windows SRP

When activating Software restriction policy on a Windows XP, it seems to conflict with ZA Extreme.

    - ZA Extreme running on a Limited User account on Windows XP Pro.
    - Software Restriction Policy activated via 'running' gpedit.msc and setting the default to 'Disallowed'

ZA extreme crashes when opening up either IE or Firefox and having Forcefield enabled. Disabling Forcefield (ie. unprotected browser) fixes the problem.

This must have something to do with the virtual environment and Forcefield within ZA Extreme.

Has anyone encountered the same problem ? Admins ?

Software Restriction Policy : You might want to read this.

Disallowed - If you set Disallowed as the default rule, no programs are permitted. You must create additional rules that enable particular programs to run.

Using Disallowed as the default is not a good idea unless the administrator has a complete list of permitted programs.

Description of the Software Restriction Policies in Windows XP at this link :

Note : The way I interpret this is that the default rules don't allow users to launch applications from desktop shortcuts. But I'm not really sure.Just guessing.

Good idea to contact Support if you are unable to resolve issue.

Disallowed - Everything under C:\Program Files and C:\Windows will run. You can't save\install anything to these areas when running as a Limited User.

Shortcuts - You can make a quick change to the 'Designated Files Types' to allow shortcuts to launch anything pointing to the 2 locations listed above.

    Thank you for the information.
