The activity started on Monday or Tuesday 12/14-12/15/2009. ZA is blocking its own updates. I have watched as Manual AV/AS updates are performed, noted the servers, and one time the update will work and then it will not work for repeated attempts on the various servers. Installed the AV program update this morning---no change.
I am using standard settings suggested time and again in this forum. I use no expert rules and block only 3 sites in Firewall/Zones that are known to me that I have blocked for years and have nothing to do with ZoneAlarm. No other AV/AS applications. I am a long-time user of ZA, but, quite honestly, this application has been on a downhill slide since CheckPoint took over.
In the Firewall logs, the attempts to update AV/AS signatures, automatically or manually, are shown as "Blocked", Policy: Personal Policy, Rule: ExtBlockAll2.
What is "Rule: ExtBlockAll2". What controls the rule? Some setting within ZA?
