    Default Update Error: Unable to connect to update server

    Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite has started pestering me that the anti-virus update is overdue, but when I update manually I get "Error: Unable to connect to update server" every time.

    No problems with other internet connections.

    Running:

    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 9.1.008.000
    Truevector Security Engine version 9.1.008.000
    Driver version 9.1.008.000
    Anti-virus/Anti-spyware engine version 8.0.2.42, DAT file version 1008815072
    AntiSpam version 6.0.0.2383

    OS: Windows 7

    Any ideas? It's been working fine until recently. Is anyone else seeing this problem?

    Also, does anyone have an email address for Tech. Support - I checked the website, but couldn't see one - I found the 'Email Link' link, but that takes you to a form where you have to enter both the 'From' and 'To' email addresses...

    They are closed on weekends you need to contact them during the week.

    Actually they seem online now... probably just for few hours.

    - I got through and they told me to trust kav8.zonealarm.com and upd.zonelabs.com, then reboot, which I did, but still no joy :-(

    OK, this time they got me to reset the whole thing back to 'factory defaults', after backing up my config. Rebooted and restored my backup, and the updates now work OK.

    Problem solved.

    I had the same problem you described, with ZA antivirus version 9.1.008.000. This fix worked for me (even without reboot).
