    Default New Network problems

I am using Zone Alarm Free (9.1.007.002) and everytime I start my computer I get the new network found ****. It's a pain. I looked up other posts but what you recommend to do isn't even available (Firewall, Main, Advanced). I've reset with the Shift/Control Method but the same. Same IP always pops up by the way. Help please.

Please Refrain from using Curse words in this Public Forum..

    Here is the Recomended Solution..

If the following does not work for you, perhaps you can Try one of the other FREE Firewall programs..

    Frequently Asked Question
How to Configure ZoneAlarm when it continues to detect new networks

    http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/...8223/tab_L.gifAnswer
    http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/...8223/tab_R.gifSolution:

To configure ZoneAlarm to automatically add a new network when detected
so the pop-ups no longer occur, please perform the following steps.

    1) Open ZoneAlarm and click on the Firewall panel on the left.
    2) Click on the Main tab.
    3) Click on the Advanced button.
    4) Under the Network Settings, check either the Include networks in the
Trusted Zone upon detection radio button or the Exclude networks in the
    Trusted Zone upon detection.
    5) Click OK.

    Notes

You cannot remove or block an active network connection. As long as your
subnet has already been detected, you should no longer receive network
    detection popup alerts.

    - Selecting Exclude networks from the Trusted Zone. Will always put new
detected networks in the Internet (UNtrusted) Zone.
    - Selecting Include networks in the Trusted Zone. Will always put new
detected networks in the Trusted Zone.

    Doppelganger : ZoneAlarm Free 9.1.007.002

    Firewall | Main | Advanced

Never use the free version, but no Network settings options on free firewall.Only on paid versions.

Possible corrupt installation or as suggested try another free firewall.

Have no other suggestions to address your issue unless other ZoneAlarm Free users might want to provide input.

Tried to reinstall thinking a faulty installation might have been a factor. It didn't help, tomorrow I will downgrade to version 8x which works flawlessly. ~~ snip ~~ Thanks for the help and I hope the developers look into this.

You only stated using ZoneAlarm Free. You didn't specify OS.If not using Windows 7 and using Vista SP1 or XP SP3.

If this is the case then you could read the post by Guru GeorgeV at this link :

Sorry I came across rude, it's just computer problems are frustrating sometimes. I've been using Zone Alarm Free for years and never had an issue until this latest version. Computer is an Athlon X2 3800+ with 2GB Ram. OS is XP with SP3 with all current updates and my Antivirus and Spyware programs are fully updated. I've seen other posts about this issue and was just wondering if anyone figured it out. That's all and thanks for trying to help and being patient.

    No problem.

Doppelganger : Most users that contribute to the forum probably have never used ZoneAlarm Free.So sometimes hard to help you.

I would suggest to you and all ZoneAlarm Free users to post screenshot of the following when addressing issues :

Firewall | Main | Advanced to see what the Settings are.

Program Control | Main | Custom to see if there is a Custom tab.

Or post screenshot for any relevant issue you might have.

We have no idea what the UI looks like. This would address your issue faster and eliminate guess work.
