    Default Internet access issue

Running win xp, downloaded zone alarm pro trial to see if it helps my prob. My puter is receiving 11 million or more packets in less than an hour. Possible dossing. zone alarm set to high stops this, but I cant use the internet. WHen setting the security to med, I can use the net and the packets start moving again. I need to figure out how to reach a happy medium where I can stop the dossing and also use the net. Please help. THanks.

This could all be Normal Background Chater between those Devices and your Computer..

Thanks for responding, I think the traffic is real b/c I exceeded my directway fair access policy very quickly while the computer was idle. Have other puters running same software not sending and receiving a fraction of the packets. Please help, I cant figure this out. Thank You.

Since this doesn't really sound like a ZA problem, I would suggest posting your question in the Networking section of the Broadband Reports (DSLR) forum. There are some pretty savy networking people over there.

I've gotten a lot of help for them over the years.

Just a suggestion of something else to try.
