    Default IE8 and Chrome Browser hang with updated ZoneAlarm Security Suite

    After upgrading to the latest level of ZoneAlarm Security Suite, IE8 and Chrome browers hang after a few tabs are open. This can be resolved by shutting down ZoneAlarm. Here's my system info:

    Browser security requirements

    * Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8
    * Mozilla Firefox 2.0, 3.0, 3.5

    You could try the following suggestions :

    Close you browser and Clear Virtual Data in the Browser Security Advanced settings panel.If this doesn't work, try the IE reset.

    How to Reset IE :

    Close all browsers
    Open ZoneAlarm
    Click Browser Security / Settings
    Click Advanced tab
    Clear virtual data and click okay
    Now turn Browser Security off and follow these steps here

    Click Start / Control Panel / Internet Options
    Click Delete / Delete Temporary Internet Files
    Security (Tab) / Default Level
    Advanced (Tab) / Restore advanced settings

    Thanx for responding, but I've tried all of that. I've cleared out the PC using CCleaner and rebooted numerous times. I used "PC Tools Registry Mechanic" and "ilio System Mechanic" to fix registry problems. I disabled the ZoneAlarm antivirus/antispyware options to ensure that my "PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus" was not causing a conflict. It did not help, so for the time being I've disabled ZASS on my Vista PC. Note that I've reloaded the Vista OS from scratch twice on this PC reformatting C: both times. Will need to contact ZoneAlarm Support.

    Thanx, Roe.

    Thanx, Roe.
    One, not two anti-virus , even if disable.They run in the background and clash with each other fighting for resources causing more problems.

    Security features from different products sometimes overlap causing computer problems.Since these programs provide some of the same types of protection that ZoneAlarm provides, you won't need them.

    I would suggest to read the following also :

    Readme for ZoneAlarm 9.1

    "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\readme.html"
