Default ZoneAlarm Causing PC TO Crash

Im using Win XP Pro. Ive been using ZoneAlarm Free Version for years. For the pat 2 weeks or so it has been crashing my computer periodically. First I noticed that ZoneAlarm was crashing my PC when trying to automatically update. It would not update manually either. I think uninstalled ZoneAlarm and re-installed the latest version 9.1.007.002. When I booted up the PC this morning ZoneArlarm did not activate. I manually activated it and the icon finally showed up. It said initialling UI. Then my PC crashed again and I had to reboot. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening after all these years using ZoneAlarm? Thanks.

1.) do you have any other Security programs Installed that may be Blocking ZA Free Update from Writing to the Windows Registry?
Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware with "Registry Gaurd"?
or Norton/Symantec, McAfee,AVG, Spyspweeper, NOD32, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...

Whenever posting here- or Contacting ZA Tech Support, it is always advisable to list your:Windows OS (XP SP 2-3 / Vista SP1-2 / Windows 7 32-Bit/64-Bit), your ZoneAlarm product Type and ZA version number , Brand of Computer and CPU, is it a DeskTop or Laptop, List any other Security Programs installed.

It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country,
