Default Anti-Spyware detects flash as Win32...Trojan

    Hi all.

I'm using ZoneAlarm Pro8.0.400.020 with the latest Anti Spyware Definitions (updated last time on 21th jan)

And since this last update, zonealarm detects flashutil10d.exe and FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.exe as spyware.

i tested this on 2 different pcs and both have the same issue.

i completele removed flash and installed it via adobe.com and also tried the direct download links from the adobe flash support site.

does anybody have the same issue?

    Hello Guru,
I see that ZA8 is no longer supported. I have updated to ZA9 -- but in reference to the issues described in this thread, can you please clarify? I assumed when updating to ZA9, I would be able to scan for spyware and verify that these 4 trojans are false positives.

Meanwhile Mcafee full scan found nothing.
2 trojans mentioned in this thread: win32.hot-***, win32.kbljx.cn
a third mentioned in another thread of Today: win32.gzhuabao (FP_AX_CAB_installer.exe)
    and a fourth: Win32.Trojan.Agent.162268 Windows/System32/MSCOMCTL.OCX

I wish I had done a SafeMode spyware scan in ZA, prior to updating.
Before updating I deleted these 4 Trojans, two of which returned after rebooting -- you stated are false positives (win32.hot-***, win32.kbljx.cn)

I am currently doing an online Norton scan -- **Do you think that should suffice?**

Also, being a long-time user of Zone Alarm, I really really am going to miss the Site List. I use this alot and constantly adjust settings for individual sites. I'm feeling very skeptical about the upgrade.

    Thanks in advance,
    Kathy

Please do not mess up with different scanners you may delete good files or ignore bad files. Update to latest version of ZA and scan your system.

If you want to check a file just upload it to www.virustotal.com

    Thanks,
