    Default Re-Installation Problem

    I am having a problem re-installing ZASS V7.

I am running XP Pro. I installed my copy of ZASS v7 about 18 months ago. Never had a problem with it until 2 days ago. I've never bothered upgrading to a newer version as I work on the principle that if it's not broken, don't fix it!

2 days ago I got a message on startup to the effect that "0XC0000 .... was not initializing and will be terminated." I didn't record the exact details. After re-booting a few times, I had the same problem so decided to uninstall ZA. I used Your Uninstaller to do this. I re-booted, then re-installed from my original exe programme. No problems - it installed with my settings intact.

However, it won't allow me to access the net. Browsers, mail, even ZA updates wouldn't work. If I shut ZASS down it is fine, but not when I run it as before; using a process of elimination I found the problem is in the Firewall setting. I had Internet Zone on Max and Trusted on Med. If I slide IZ down to medium all works well again, but not if I move it back up to Max.

I can leave it as is, but I'm not getting max security and I'm sure there's a simple user error explanation.

    All advice gratefully accepted. Thanks
