    Question Problems Opening PDF Attachments

    Hi

This is my first time on here - so sorry if I don't have the correct lingo.

I have recently installed ZA Antivirus on a PC that is running XP Professional. Everything looked fine - but when we open PDF attachments from Outlook Express emails - the first one opens fine - normal speed - but the next one you try takes about a minute. This is even true if you close the first one.

Also, if you try and close the email before the PDF file opens - the PC is so locked up trying to open the PDF file that it gives a 'not responding' message for Outlook Express. If you just wait for the PDF file to open - then everything starts running again.

I know this sounds like a weird quirk - but I haven't found this problem on any other PC that has ZA Antivirus running. We have tried rebooting, checking for updates to the ZA and making sure that Acrobat Reader is a trusted program. The only thing that stops the problem is when I turn ZA off - and then it all goes back to normal.

I would love to stick with Zone Alarm - if there is anyway of fixing this.

    Any thoughts much appreciated!

It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country, without All the Details, without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..

Based on the Limited Infomation you provided, I'm not sure that this is Related to Zone Alarm?

It could be related to Adobe Acrobat Reader Not Current, if the "PDF"
was created by a Later Version of Adobe "Acrobat Reader"

Also is your Windows XP Pro Fully updated with MicroSoft SP3 and 65 Plus Critical Updated released after SP3?

1.) Here is a Free Update Checker Program Download - Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) that lets you know when some of your Files Need to be Updated..

2.) Check for New Microsoft Windows XP Pro Updates..

Whenever posting here- or Contacting ZA Tech Support, it is always advisable to list your:Windows OS (XP SP 2-3 / Vista SP1-2 / Windows 7 32-Bit/64-Bit), your ZoneAlarm product Type (Free,Pro,AV, Suite,Extreme) and ZA version number (7.0,8.0,9.0,9.1), Brand of Computer and CPU, is it a DeskTop or Laptop, List any other Security Programs installed.

Please Post back with your Progress Report..
