Thread: Firefox wants to accept connections from the internet

    Default Firefox wants to accept connections from the internet

    I am using ZoneAlarm free and recently it has kept telling me that Firefox wants to accept connections from the internet.
    The reported IP addfress is 208.67.222.222.
    It has only done this recently and I am concerned that I may have paicked up some malware which is causing this.
    I have done a full system clean up (AVG scan, ComboFix, Malwarebytes and Kaspersky Labs scan) but this is still occuring.

    Anyone shed any light?

    The IP address belongs to OpenDNS.

    Does it ring any bells to you? Are you using openDNS? The IP is safe. So may be just a configuration problem.

    Not aware why I should be using openDNS, or why this should have started happening suddenly. I will indeed try their forum.

    Probably an add-on you installed in Firefox?
    Try to run Firefox in SAFE MODE and see if you experience the same problem.

    1. Make sure Firefox is closed (open the "File" menu, then select "Exit")
    2. Click the Start button, open the All Programs list, and navigate to the Mozilla Firefox folder. Select "Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)".
    3. When the Safe Mode dialog box appears, click "Continue in Safe Mode"
    4. If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, and extension or theme is likely the cause.
