    Default [SOLVED] Potential user question

From reading the forums, it appears that ZA makes use of Kaspersky software or some parts of it.

What parts of the software are Kaspersky ( as that is the prouct I currently have and I am looking to replace)?

Is the firewall like the original one that ZA used to put out or is it Kaspersky's?

As I recall, begining with ZA ver 6.5, Zone Alarm revoved the old "CA - Computer & Associates" Anti-Virus Engine and Replaced it with an OEM SKD version of the Kaspersky Anti-Virus..

Begining with ZA ver. 9.0, The Old AV and AS Engines were Removed and Replaced with Kaspersky's new Unified AV/AS Engine..

    • New unified anti-virus and anti-spyware engine:
      • Scans 80%-90% faster and combines anti-virus and anti-spyware into one scan
      • More advanced scan options- riskware, ADS, heuristic scanning, and more exception options
      • Additional on-access scan controls
      • On-access scanning now detects spyware
CheckPoint Uses the ZONELabs Firewall.. not Kaspersky..

Thanks guess I will keep looking for another product then. I am not fond of Kaspersky, which is why I am looking for a new option.

Ok, Good Luck in your search,

Zone Alarm is not the Only one using the OEM SKD Anti-Virus Engine from Kaspersky..
