    Default Vsdatant.sys blue screen BSOD

I am running ZA 9 Extreme (latest update), Win 7 - 64 bit. I am trying to track down the cause of my bluescreens. If I run the MS driver verifier (verifier.exe) on Vsdatant.sys, this driver will cause a BSOD on every startup. Not a good sign.

    DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.

    IMAGE_NAME: vsdatant.sys

From searching the web, it looks like this driver has been a source of problems for at least 5 years. Running the driver verifier is something that should have been done before this driver was ever released.

Has anyone else tried running the driver verifier on Vsdatant.sys? Is there a solution to this problem?

    Thanks

Would anyone else care to try the verifier? Maybe it is just me.

@reasonman: I'm having _exactly_ the same problem with this driver. I'm not ZA staff, only a lowly user, but I was able to run the driver verifier somehow (am I allowed to?) and see the same problem with Vsdatant.sys. Did the callstack from c:\MEMORY.DMP (generated from the BSOD) tell you anything?

    @ all

This may be perfectly normal, Vsdatant.sys is the lowest ZA level driver that act as antitampering and protection. The non access or reading may be by design.

Please report directly to ZA as already suggested.
