    Default XP/Vista Anti-virus/Anti-spyware 2010 Removal

This program and Windows security center keeps popping up which I assume means I have trouble. Zone Alarm is not finding anything in either the virus or spyware scanner. Any ideas on how to correct?

Ive been attacked by Antivirus XP 2010. It seems that in addition to the annoying pop ups telling me Ive been infected, buy their software, I cannot execute any programs including Zonealarm or Malwarebytes. Interestingly, I can use Explore to view files and I can share files from another computer. Any thoughts?

The attack is preventing me from running Zonealarm, Malwarebytes, internet explorer, you name it - even in safe mode with networking.

Most of the suggestions in the Malware cleanup guidance require running a program, which I cant do.

I just figured out how to translate the DRweb website from Russion to English, but there is a 58 page instruction manual. If nothing else works, Ill try this tomorrow.

I havn't tried posting this elsewhere...was trying this forum first.

Yesterday evening ZA gave a "warning signal" about an attempted intrusion. Bingo, hit refuse (or whatever) - didn't work. I ended up with an pop-up mad malware installed. It was trying to sell its' own software from about $49.95 - to $79.95ish. No phone, no "right click" to open it - it just kept running fake scans, with dire results & and on warning message after another, - one aggressive sob. Links on my desktop stopped working - one serious pia. I managed to get back on line and there are several sites warnig of this program - and a few offered a way to delete it. - I ended up trying ~~ snips ~~ -

Here is a forum thread from Malewarebytes that I came across yesterday concerning removal of some fake security infections that I have seen mentioned lately. See Post #2 and Post #3 for Malewarebytes solution:
