If you want to be stealth, you need to remove access privilegies to software on your machine. Starting from P2P programs, IMs, server based programs, etc...

It is a quite tedious job of finding which application is not allowing the stealthing. You have the ensure the network in ZA firewall zone is set to internet. Then start removing all ZA "server access to the internet" to all programs under the ZA program control.

The above changes may lead to software not able to work anymore. Be careful....

For 135/139 open --> Disable NETBIOS over TCP/IP

Use ShieldUp since PCflank can give wrong results.

Thanks fax! I contacted tech support, but couldn't solve this, i tried everything they said to me. I think i leave this issue because most of the time my computer is behind a router and with a router ports are stealthed.

Don't know what is the problem with my system but i saw other users with other products having this issue and they couldn't solve their problem, they switched to other product. But i won't switch, i stay with Zone Alarm.

Not really an issue of leaving ZA for something else. It is a matter of configuration.

It may be perfectly normal you have ports that are closed or open.
Some software needs it to work properly.

For example, to avoid 135/139 open ports (disable NETBIOS in windows 7), plus remove all server access to programs.

The above does add very little to security (if you keep your software updated) and may increase troubleshooting due to software not working as expected.

btw, the latest Extreme beta works better than the retail version, at least here.

    Enjoy the we and cheers!

    Thumbs up Re: No stealth

    Hello!

I'm here to report about this problem, it's solved. I did a clean reinstall and unticked the Internet Zone-->Custom-->Allow broadcast/multicast option.

Now all my ports are stealthed both on grc.com and pcflank.com

Great Narxis! Thank you for posting back with the solution.
I am sure it will help other user with your same the problem. Weird that some of the ports initially reported do not look like multicast/broadcasts.

    Talking Re: No stealth

After the clean reinstall i had one port open, port 554, all others were stealthed. Then i unticked this broadcast/multicast thing, then port 554 is went into stealth mode.
