Thread: Update 9.1.507.0 failed to install

    Default Update 9.1.507.0 failed to install

    I never had any problem with my ZoneAlarmSecuritySuite and for the first time I do.

    I'm using WindowsXP SP3 and I just renew my ZA licence so I guess I should not have any problem. ZA prompted me that there was an update so I did the download and when I get to the point of installing it the installing program cease to function at 5% (vsdataOld.dll) and says that the program does not respond.

    I tried to download again since I thought it was a problem with the first downloaded file but it still does the same. At least I'm still protected because my version 9.1.008.0 is still installed.

    But I hope they can fixe the problem. I contacted tech. service through the web and hope to get an answer soon.

    It sounds like you have a bad install of the new ZA 9.1

    Did you download and save the New ZA to your Hard drive, then Un-check "Load ZA at Startup" and Reboot computer before Clicking on the Save ZA file to Install the New version..?

    The simplest procedure is to :


    1.) Download the Latest installer preferably with IE Browser and no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right, Livewire, Bit-Torrent, uTorrent) and save it to your Hard drive.

    (MultiPlatform, installer will install on Both WinXP SP3 and Vista and Windows7)

    2.) Before you Uninstall your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview - Preferences tab)

    3.) Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory

    4.) Now use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool: Click here http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

    Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

    Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

    5.) Now Install the new update (clean) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

    *** NOTICE: Please note that ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

    To troubleshoot ZASS/ZAXS issues removethe other Security programs and (if you can't live without the other Security programs - Not Recomended) - Only re-install them once you see that ZA works as it should.

    *** For example, the Following programs may not work well with ZoneAlarm, Kaspersky (KAV) or (KISS),Norton/Symantec, McAfee,AVG, Spyspweeper, NOD32, Spyware Doctor, trojan hunter, adware, SpyBotSearch & Destroy, PC tools Threat Fire, any other Anti-virus, some Anti-spyware, Registry Guard or locking tools, etc...

    Hi,
    Still not working. Now the installing stop at zlquarantine.dll

    The tech service told me to msconfig and disable my starting program and service, then reboot and then clean again and then re-install but still it stops at zlquarantine.dll

    Please help!!!! I'm still waiting for new instruction from tech service but it's been 2 days that I don't have any anti-virus program because I even tried to install the version 9.100.8 that was working before and I even tried with my original cd and still all of those versions stop responding at that file zlquarantine.dll

    Very ancious to get that program working again!!!
