Default AntiVirus Updates keeps changing to "Hourly"

I've been a Zonealarm user for almost 10 years now and currently I'm using ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:9.1.507.000. Windows XP sp3.
For the past few months, I've noticed that it checks for antivirus updates every hour and it slows my computer down considerably. I'm not that paranoid so i set it to check for updates every 24hours. For some reason, every day it seems to reset itself back to checking ever hour...
Why does it change automatically when i tell it to check every 24 hours? It's making me a little nervous seeing it do something other than what i configure it to do.
If anyone knows how to fix this, i would greatly appreciate the answer. Also, i noticed that my trusted zone keeps changing to Medium after i constantly set it to High.
Ultimately, it appears that my config file keeps resetting to default in a way because i also checked Enable ARP Protection and I just noticed that it is not checked anymore...
Hopefully this extra info helps pinpoint what's at fault...

Please contact Tech Support Live Chat link in my Signature.. before they close down for the weekend.

alternately, you try another reset of your ZA Database..

To repair this problem, please follow the steps below. Please note that
this will remove your program permission settings (so you may want to make
note of them), but re-establishing them is a simple process.

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock in the system tray lower right corner
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot
