Default Virus Scan always crashes on msqry32.exe

    Hi there,

I have an acer aspire one netbook and lately the virus scan always crashes when it gets to the file msqry32.exe. The crash is so bad that I can't even ctrl-alt-del out of it. I have to hit the power button which I know is not safe to do often. I have tried leaving it for several hours to see if it would unlock on its own...no luck.

    Thanks,

    Tara

Exact ZA version number? OS? Tried to scan in SAFE MODE with Networking? Tried to exclude the file in the advanced options of the ZA antivirus/antispyware section?

More info you post more likely other users will be able to better assist you. Please remember that if you have a valid license you can contact, free of charge, the ZA technical support at the link in my signature.

This problem is often related to:

    - corruption of ZA settings
    - corruption of the file scanned
    - Lock of the file by other processes running causing hang
    - Malware infection
    - Other security tools installed

    More could be the causes...
