    Default [SOLVED] ZA Extreme Security wrecks my gmail --> Update to latest ZA version

    I am new and may be in the wrong forum for my problem. Please suggest a different place, if needed.

    I had ZA Pro for years, no problem at all. Upgraded Feb 2010 to ZA Security Suite for three computers, although I only have two. Ever since the upgrade it takes many minutes for a gmail to open and only after I have clicked the subject line 5 to 10 times rapidly. I get a timer and finally it opens after many more seconds.
    Then I have no CC or BCC available. I send all forwards BCC and send many each day. There is a group of about 25 of us who do this daily.

    My only solution so far is to turn ZA off and then my gmail is very fast and I have BCC available again. I also have several other email addys that all forward to this gmail account due to problems in the other servers.

    My OS is Windows XP SP3 on a Gateway laptop. I use IE 7. 250 harddrive, 90% free space. 1.46 GB RAM, maximum for this laptop.
    I do no gaming. I use genealogy software and belong to a couple of message boards that are very safe places.

    I have my router encrypted and was told by a techie that I don't even need ZA since the router is encrypted. If it s really safe to dump ZA, I would be most happy to do so.

    Please make any suggestions in baby talk because I don't understand techie language.

    Read post #10 by user freebee to see if his idea works for you. Page 2 of that topic also says that this problem has been reproduced in-house at ZA and the only option is to disable (uninstall) the ZA Toolbar which I assumed you installed when you installed ZASS. Its a checkbox option shown on one of the ZASS installation screens.

    The topic is from late 2009, and I'm not sure if the problem is addressed in the current release, but I don't think so.

    Do you see the toolbar? I don't know how to look for the toolbar. I never accept a toolbar in any download. It may have installed in ZASS but not because I told it to.

    I am so disgusted with ZASS. So hard to use compared with ZA Pro. I can't find the cache cleanup either.

    Ahhh, you have ZA Extreme Security installed, not ZA Internet Security Suite (2 different products) as you stated in your opening post. I have ZA Internet Security Suite which is why I replied to your post.

    Maybe someone with Extreme will be able to help you. I think ForceField is going to turn out to be part of the problem.

    the "reCAPTCHA" virifications is part of the FORUM Security Software, to cut down on post by Spammers..

    I just went in and did an update. I was way behind. Most programs notify me when I need to update, ZA didn't.
    Now we'll see if gmail works better. If not, then it's on to their customer support.

    I am one happy lady. The update to 9.1_507_000 fixed my gmail problem. How simple. I don't think ZA has ever notified me of available updates like so many programs do.
    I will calendar it so I can go look every couple of months for a new update.
    Thanks for trying to help. Made me at least go look at ZA to see what's available.
