    Unhappy CCleaner231 giving FP

    Now I've seen everything.
The version ccsetup231.exe that I have had on my machine since
4/29 and it's now 5/21 has decided to give me a FP:
    Trojan.Win32.Rozena.epz,C:\Downloads\ccsetup231.ex e

    VERY strange!
    I have reported it.

Zone Alarm has two different Automatic Update Functions..

1.) Automatic Product Update in Overview/Preferences
2.) Automatic Anti-virus/Anti-Spyware Update which can be configured as often as every 30 minutes, or as long as every 24 hours..

The Hackers and Virus Creaters do not take a Break or time off, there or 100's of new Viruses created every day,

    http://forum.zonealarm.com/showthread.php?t=72655

3.) so if you TURN Virus Updates completely OFF, then your placing your computer at Great Risk..

4.) it would be Better for you to UN-Install Zone Alarm and Try some other Product, if you are not going to Let Zone Alarm Protect your Computer..

I'm running Windoxs 7 x64 and ZoneAlarm Extreme Security v 9.1.507, both with the latest updates.

Like the first guy, I had ccleaner231.exe on my HD for over 2 weeks before ZA quarantined with Trojan.Win32.Rozena.epz.

I downloaded 2 fresh copies of ccleaner231.exe, one from CNET downloads and the other from Piriform and both were quarantined almost immediately.

I believe the file was flagged on 05/19/2010 or 05/20/2010 after ZA updated its AV signatures.

I have the same file on another PC that's using Windows 7 x64 and Norton System Security 4. Norton seems to think the file is okay, which makes sense since Piriform and CNET have been pretty reliable for providing clean software in the past.

@GeorgeV Firstly, strange that you advise your clients to buy something else if they want to be in control of the update time/frequency. Secondly, thank you for the response. I obviously didn't look good enough to set both options to manual update. The reasons I turn off autoupdate is that: 1) during the update proces Quake Live game has lag although I have a 4Gb dual core 2.55 x64 pc. 2) i want to install updates on my testmachine first in order to determine false positives etc. Thanks, Serleena

Dangerous strategy, you risk to be infected very often like this. Hundreds of new malware is released every 30-60 minutes. The chance of a false positives is much lower than the chance to be infected if you do not keep your AV set updated (with at a low frequency update range).

Lags usually depends on other software running, try to boot selectively your system to find the culprit of the excessive system load. Also make use of the ZA "game mode".

For false positives rather than here always report to Kaspersky as indicated here below:
How to report antivirus/antispyware false positives
This will ensure a confirmation from the source and a fast fixing.
