Default "New Network" Issues and missing entries in ZA firewall zone

This thread, http://forums.zonealarm.com/showthread.php?t=75210, is closed but I would like to add something.

This morning I restarted my computer and I got the Zone Alarm window informing me of a new network, 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0, again. There are only two options, to make it an internet zone or a trusted zone. I opted to make it an internet zone.

When I opened the Control Center, all of the zones I had previously created were gone. The ONLY zone listed was the new one just added. I was able to access web pages but not other computers on my network.

I was concerned that the Local Host and DHCP server were not listed any longer and I decided to follow the reset instructions given by Guru in the thread referenced above.

As ZA was resetting, the "New Network" was found again so I set it to trusted this time. In the Control Center, I now have these:

    New Network 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 Network Trusted
Mapped Drive 192.168.1.140 IP Address Trusted
DHCP Server 192.168.1.1 IP Address Trusted

There is no listing for Local Host as there was initially. Is there anything to be concerned about or to do here? Thanks.

Sorry, This is not a Chat forum so closed Threads are not openend unless the Original Poster request it..

There are several reasons for Closing Threads..

1.) Generally many Threads are Closed when the Original poster's Problem is resolved.

2.) may be Closed to Prevent Hi-Jacking or Abuse of the Forum Rules and "Terms of Use" Policy.

3.) at the request of the OP.

If you have a Simular problem, you can Use the Forum "SEARCH" feature to find out if a Solution has already been posted..

    or Start your Own Thread..

As a matter of Curtsey and to provide the Best solution to each Users problem,
the Guideline Rules, ask each User to Please start their own thread.

This insures that each User receives a solution specific to their on Problem, When other user like yourself interject your own problem into the discussion of somebody else's problem, any advice or solution to your problem would confuse and may conflict with the solution to the Originating Users problem..

4.) "There is no listing for Local Host as there was initially"

This may be due to Corrupted ZA Database?

    Try Reseting the Database..

To repair this problem, please follow the steps below. Please note that
this will remove your program permission settings (so you may want to make

note of them), but re-establishing them is a simple process.

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock in the system tray lower right corner
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

Did you updated any software in your computer or installed new software recently?

The new update or the new software may conflict with ZA and cause this issue.
