    Unhappy BSOD with ZAISS 9.3

    Hi

    I just got around to installing ZAISS 9.3 and it blue screened as soon as I logged on after the install. I've got it working now, but I thought I'd share my experience in case anyone else has noticed the same problem.

    The first time I tried to install with an upgrade from 9.1.008, and got the blue screen after restarting and then logging on.

    Next I tried running the ZoneAlarm cleaning tool and then installing. That time the install worked, but when I tried to restore my security settings from a backup it blue screened again.

    It's working now re-installed and with the default settings, but I'm upset because I'll have to apply my security settings manually. The only idea I have left is to maybe try a ccleaner run and then a settings restore, but I don't really want to risk it blue screening again.

    Guess I'll just change the settings manually, but I have six PCs to upgrade so that's not a job that I'm looking forward to; so I'll probably leave all of the rest on 9.1.008 for now.

    Yes, I know we are all users. That's why I posted my experience to see if any other users had had something like this happen.

    Whenever I've contacted technical support in the past they've only been interested in solving my problem, not collecting information to try and fix whatever it is in the ZA code that's causing the problem in the first place. Because, in this case, the fix is to enter my settings manually I doubt that I would get anything more useful by contacting them now.

    I've been a user of ZoneAlarm for over ten years, and I'm mostly very satisfied because this sort of thing is rare. And when I have had problems I've always found that the advice, and shared experiences, on this forum to be better source of information than the official support channels.

    If a lot of people post similar experiences to this thread then I may re-consider, but for now I'm just going to keep what I have and put in my settings manually.
