    Default ZAX Upgrade or clean

Hi Guy's...thanks for FAX and GeorgeV's advice back in Feb re upgrading to ZAX from ZAISS, when bank was pushing Rapport Security software.

Very pleased with ZAX (v.9.1.008.000) and running great alongside Firefox 3.6.6.

However, I see there's been 2 versions since Feb...9.1.507.000 and now the latest 9.1.603.00, having had no prompt for either.

I know not everyone gets auto prompts immediately for new versions, therefore I ask..

    1. Would you advise waiting till I do get one, or to download latest v. myself?

    2. As I'm only 2 versions behind, would an UPGRADE be OK, or do a CLEAN install everytime whatever?

    Thanks for your time.

    Welcome Back..

    If you are "

Then there is no need for you to jump on the band wagon to try the new Release UNTIL you receive the AUTOMATIC Prompt Notice..

The two newer versions are a Work in progress as a few users have incounters minor problems and a yet Next Release is expected soon..

Upgrade from 9.1.008.000 should be ok for most Users...

However, if you have had a problem with the Upgrade method in the past, then.

The safest procedure is to :

1.) Download the Latest installer preferably with IE Browser and (no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right, Livewire, Bit-Torrent, uTorrent) and save it to your Hard drive.

(MultiPlatform, installer will install on Both WinXP SP3 and Vista and Windows7)

    ZoneAlarm Extreme Security updates
    ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite updates
    ZoneAlarm Pro firewall updates
    ZoneAlarm Antivirus updates
    ZoneAlarm free updates

2.) Before you Uninstall your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview - Preferences tab)

3.) Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory

4.) Now use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool: Click here http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

5.) Now Install the new update (clean) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

*** NOTICE: Please note that ZAAV, ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).
