    Default New Network Found

I've just upgraded to the latest version of the free fire wall, and now every few minutes it will pop up the "new network found" window.

I go and add the information...it closes the window...and then a couple of minutes later, pops back up.

Why is zonealarm now doing this? I've used it for years and never had something like this happen.

Probably because it cannot save the configuration in the C:/windows/internet logs folder. Are you logged as administrator?
Sorry no other idea from my side.

You find old version of ZAFREE here:

I am having the same problem (or very close to it) with ZA 9.2.057.
The "new network" address is my ip address. I get a new ip address each time (or nearly each time) I connect to my ISP. So that means I will get that "new network found" pop up every time I boot up.

I did a clean installation of ZA 9.2.057 after uninstalling the previous version.

    Solution:

To configure ZoneAlarm to automatically add a new network when detected so the pop-ups no longer occur, please perform the following steps.

    1) Open ZoneAlarm and click on the Firewall panel on the left.
    2) Click on the Main tab.
    3) Click on the Advanced button.
    4) Under the Network Settings, check either the Include networks in the
Trusted Zone upon detection radio button or the Exclude networks in the
    Trusted Zone upon detection.
    5) Click OK.

    Notes

You cannot remove or block an active network connection. As long as your
subnet has already been detected, you should no longer receive network
    detection popup alerts.

    - Selecting Exclude networks from the Trusted Zone. Will always put new
detected networks in the Internet (UNtrusted) Zone.
    - Selecting Include networks in the Trusted Zone. Will always put new
detected networks in the Trusted Zone.

    I followed the above instructions:
    Firewall > Main > Advanced
    I don't get "Network Settings"
I only get "Security" "General Settings"

Unhappy Re: Latest Zone Alarm Update Messed Up Internet Explorer

I installed the latest update to Zone Alarm yesterday, only to find that not only did I get the 'New Network Found' business, but that in addition, IE8 had lost all it's toolbars along the top, (file, edit, etc.) It had also deleted all the text labels on my links and to add insult to injury, turned all the Explorer bars along the top BLACK! I couldn't see anything!
Luckily I'd set a system retore point and went back to the original Zone Alarm, but that wouldn't work - I think because System Restore had had to re-name some of the files. Of course, I got a little red shield in the tray because there wasn't a firewall installed, so now I've got the Windows Firewall on!
Anyway, I decided to completely uninstall Zone Alarm with Revo Uninstaller and go with the built-in one for a while. Might as well I suppose. The trouble with Zone Alarm now, is you have to opt for the 'Custom' installation, or you get the 'Ask' Toolbar dumped into IE (Why???) and I reckon, in opting NOT to have this, IE's settings got all mucked about with!
Has anybody else suffered the same thing? Is going back to the previous version of ZA the only option - and what about the constant 'Nags' to update?

i reorted this problem under the topic heading 'permanent network access' about a week ago. only way i could stop this from happening was to uninstall version 057 and reinstall version 044. i had tried the upgrade option to 057, then tried the uninstall and clean install as well. no difference. probably wrong, but maybe 057 isn't holding the settings it should?

    George,
Just like AFBYORB, I don't get a network settings option like you stated in step 4, and this pop up is getting to be a pain.
