Default Continual HDD Activity Since ZAISS upgrade. [Resolved]

    Hello,

posted nearly 3 months ago (in April) said that there would be an upgrade soon to fix the problem of constant HDD activity. There has been an upgrade since (to 9.1.603.000), but I still have the HDD activity and as such still have anti-virus/Anti-spyware switched off (using Avira instead).

Has anyone else still got this problem? It's driving me nuts.

    Hi GeorgeV,

I did talk to the helpdesk people, but by them time they asked me to check certain things, I managed to work it out.

It wasn't ZASS, but the performance monitor made it look like ZASS.

It was actually an online backup service called Memopal which I had been using for a while, but decided to go on an unnecessary crawl through my files and ZASS-AV was obviously checking all the read/writes (and hence making it look like the culprit. Memopal started to "do it's thing" at about the same time that I upgraded ZASS (2 versions ago) and has been doing it every since.

Memopal is now un-installed and all is quiet again (and I am using Crashplan instead).

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    James.
