Default I've had ZAP 9.1 Installed and now no more on website Links clicks?

    Hi,

ZAP fires up from the time I switch on PC, I can access IE and access websites, but I can not click on a link from within that website. If I then disable ZAP and click on links in a Web Page I get redirected to the "other" site - good. I now reactivate ZAP and I can then click links and so on.

Is there a setting I need to have in ZAP?

    To recap:

1] From Firing up PC - ZAP stops linking to "other" websites.

2] Disable ZAP and I get back Web linking

3] Re-enable ZAP - clicking on sites from a Website continues to work.

    I'm using ZoneAlarm Pro version:9.1.603.000

    TIA

    Grazie

    Hi Grazie,

You could try resetting the database.

Please follow the steps below. Please note that this will remove your program permission settings, but re-establishing them is a simple process.

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together.
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock in the system tray lower right corner.
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up.
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box.
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system.
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot.

Let us know how it went.

Apologies for the delay, but I wanted to thoroughly test ZAP9 and your advice before getting back here.. But, unfortunately:- No go.

The only way I can now click on websites pages and get through to the next is to disengage/shut-down ZAP, close IE and then reopen IE and start surfing. Once I am surfing THEN I open ZAP again. After this procedure I can surf without interruptions from ZAP. I do get a reassuringly polite confirmation that ZAP is protecting my pc though.

I've been using ZAP for many years now and I can say that this is the most infuriating issue I've come across. ZAP 8 worked perfectly. My experience is that ZAP 9 is a step backwards - sorry.

    Not a happy Customer . . .

    Hi Grazie,

We are all just users here, this forum is not officially monitored by ZoneAlarm employees.

If a simple database reset did not work, you can consider trying a clean reinstallation of the program.
To do this, download and run the cpes_clean tool:
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

Then download the latest version of ZoneAlarm Pro (9.1.603.000) from here:
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...seHistory.html

Follow the prompts to install, and then restart your PC.

Alternatively, you could remove ZA 9.1 and install the older v8 first. Just a thought.
