    Default Sality Virus ???

    Greetings All !

I've started receiving a message-box with the following text:
    ZoneAlarm Service Agent
Security Alert: The 32.Sality Virus disables anti virus and is spreading fast. The new ZoneAlarm Free Firewall has real-time threat data to protect against Sality and 1000s of new attacks every day. Get your Free update now for better protection.

I hesitated to download and install this "fix" because, I would think the normal ZoneAlarm update would have taken care of the "32 Sality" virus.

Am I being too paranoid ???
Should I download and install it ???

    Thanks to all responders !!!

It's just a legitimate advertisement/message that comes with ZoneAlarm Free. It will either tell you to download the latest version of ZoneAlarm Free, or to upgrade to a retail version if you are already running the latest version (9.2.057.000).

    Thanks Chiaz !

I'm using ZoneAlarm's "Firewall" and MS's "Security Essentials" Virus.

Been informed a long time ago that having more-than-one virus software will cause problems.

Thus... I'll stick with MS's Free Virus checker.

    Hi,

Yes, you are right. Running simultaneous anti-virus programs can cause conflicts and performance issues.

Since question appears to be answered, I will close this thread.

Feel free to start a new thread if you have any other questions/issues related to ZoneAlarm.
