Default IE7 Slow To Open With Zone Alarm Free

seen various posts of IE8 opening slowly when using zonealarm free, but nothing for same slow-down on IE7. am using XP+SP3 (updated), have just ZA Free 044, my a/v and the printer spool driver in start up (needed or not?). when i turn off ZA free, the internet homepage opens quickly. when ZA free is active, internet home page takes around 3 minutes to open. dont use IE8 and had same 'new network' problem as others with ZA 057, so uninstalled it, cleaned and installed 044 again. any solution known or advice available, please?

    TIA

If the downgrade .044 is working better for you..

Then I suggest staying on .044 until the Next Release after .057

Sorry, There is no indication or ETA when the next release will be available..

unfortunately, 044 isn't working any better as far as speed of opening IE is concerned. 057 was no quicker anyway but i removed it after trying it because of the 'new network' problem that i and others had. i wondered if there was something i had not done or could try to speed up IE7 opening. in ZA settings, IE was set to 'auto'. i changed it to 'custom' and ticked all 4 boxes, dont know whether i should have. made no difference tho'.

I'm sorry that did work for you..

Here is another Solution that worked for another ZA Free Basic Firewall user.. Uninstall ZA Free 9.2 and Downgrade to ZA Free 8.0 until a the next release of ZA Free..

    ZoneAlarm free updates

2.) Before you Uninstall your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview - Preferences tab)

3.) Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory

4.) Now use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool: Click here http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

5.) Now Install the new update (clean) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

*** NOTICE: Please note that ZAAV, ZASS and ZAXS do not play nice with many overlapping security tools (even if disabled).

tnx for reponse, GeorgeV. have removed 044 and reinstalled 8.0.298. the slow-down of opening IE is improved considerably but still takes approx 15secs of showing the blank, IE page before switching to say my home page name (still blank), then about 5-10 secs to actually display that page. will see if there is any speed improvement in the coming days.
