    Default [SOLVED] Installer trouble

First time I tried to install ZA free to my new laptop the PC collapsed. I removed parts of first installation from Add or Remove programs.

Now I've tried to execute latest v. 92.057.000 and always gives error message "The installer is having trouble shutting down your current version of ZA. To resolve this, please restrart your computer and then restart your upgrade."

Restarts does not help. Always the same message appear again.

    Regards
    Jari

The safest procedure is to :

1.) Now use the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool: Click here <A href="http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/support/cpes_clean.exe" target=_blank>http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...load/clean.exe

Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

2.) Download the Latest ZA installer preferably with IE Browser and (no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right, Livewire, Bit-Torrent, uTorrent) and save it to your Hard drive.

(MultiPlatform, installer will install on Both WinXP SP3 and Vista and Windows7)

    ZoneAlarm free updates

3.) Now Install the new update (clean Install) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

PS. Most new Computers come with 3rd party Trial Security Software that may Conflict with Zone Alarm..
Any 3rd party Security that includes a Software Firewall must be Removed before installing Zone Alarm..

Unless you have inherent problems on the laptop (OS corruption, malware infections, other software blocking ZA, etc) you will be able to fully remove ZA by running the dedicated ZA removal tool.

    or use the manual procedure:
I cannot find or run the ZoneAlarm uninstall program (Vista)
I cannot find or run the ZoneAlarm uninstall program (XP/2000)

Thanks much. I could remove the defective parts by remover and was able to install new ZA.
