Thread: Multiple IP Addresses?

    Default Multiple IP Addresses?

Zone Alarm detected a new network after i updated it. I know since I have a router it has its own network address. However when I click the LAN connection it displays an IP address exactly the same as the one in Zone Alarm except for the number it ends in is a different number than the one in the Zone Alarm trusted zone. Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. The IP you see is the one from the router while in ZA you see the entire IPs ranges of your LAN that includes that IP. For correct sharing of resources attached to your internal LAN the Network in ZA (most likely something like 192.168.X.X/255.255....) should be set as TRUSTED.

    Cheers,

Thank you but I just noticed I see 5 IP addresses in the Zones portion of Zone Alarm. Any idea what that is about?

If you do not specify name and IP it rather hard to guess. If they are there they have been added manually or from a previous ZA or recognised automatically at install.

There are 2 DNS Servers and 2 DCHP servers. Is this normal?

Well in what situations would that be normal? Also do you think I have anything to worry about? Thanks so much.
