Default [Solved] Where do quaratined emails go?

Please can someone explain/comment on the following:

Zonealarm did an auto-scan and put a file in quarantine with the path as:

    C:\Documents and Settings\cjwhitmey.DDY4X91J\Desktop\FOL0154F.PMM

There was no entry in the Alerts & Logs: Anti-virus/Anti-spyware: should there have been?

Puzzling: FOL*.PMM is an email folder and should not be on the desktop !

When I searched on the desktop I could not find it. When ZA quaratines a file does it place it elsewhere?

If 'Yes' what is the path?

If 'No' does it just make it 'invisible'?

I searched C:\ for FOL0154F.PMM and found it where it should be:

    C:\Documents and Settings\cjwhitmey\My Documents\MAIL\Admin\FOL0154F.PMM

Scanned the file with ZA and got a clean result !

There was an entry in the Alerts & Logs: Anti-virus/Anti-spyware - Action: Scan completed Mode: Manual.

Why is the manual scan logged and not the scheduled auto-scan?

    TIA

My concern was that ZA appeared to flag a file that was not present in the folder claimed.

I would welcome answers to my questions to help me understand ZA.

Never heard of this before. Try to recollect your memory on the day it happen and think how that file went into the desktop.

For complete logs see under the c:\windows\Internet Logs

Please note that you are two versions behind the current ZASS. You should update ZA to the latest version. Considering the above weird happenings it may be good to have a clean install (i.e. remove the current ZASS before installing the new). You find the latest version here: www.zonealarm.com/zasuitedownload/

Finally, as registered user of ZA you can contact, free of charge, the official ZA technical support at the link in my signature (we are all users here).

    Thanks,

    I agree with Guru Fax,

Also be advised that Tech Support will also advise you to first Upgrade to the Current Release of ZASS, and see if that solved you problem, before continuing with followup Tech Support..

True Vector security engine v. 9.1.507.000
