I got infected by Win32.Umex.f and Win32.Agent.eeoe while running 7.0.483 that had all of the current updates. I was still running 7.0.483 due to ZA 9.0 +++++ conflicts with my HP All-In-One Printer/Fax Software. ZA told me to reinstall and run 7.0.483 and that as long as I was current with updates, I would be fully protected.
Even though ZA reported that the virus' were quarantined, I was having problems with Photoshop and I got a message that ZA Antivirus was being disabled. I caught that and immediately started running scans, both ZA and Malware Bytes. Other than the files already quarantined, nothing found. I deleted the quarantined files and rebooted. Every time I rebooted, I had no ip connection to my local network. I booted to safe mode and ran the scans again. Nothing found. I tried to do a system restore to 3 different dates but Windows could not make any changes.
I did a clean unistallation of 7.0.483 using the current clean tool and installed 9.3.014 and so far, it seems ZA fixed the compatiabilty issue I reported when running 9.0+++++. New SuperScans using 9.3 find nothing. Everytime I reboot I have no local network connection although ZA is reporting a new network found with the right ip address. I have to manually ip release and renew to connect to my local network. Any ideas how I can fix this problem? Am I still infected? How did these virus' get past ZA? Is there another Anti Virus program, hopefully free, that I should try?
