Default How do I Configure for Seagate NAS?

ZA Extreme; Win 7 64 bit, Seagate NAS 110 BLACKARMOR, Ethernet
Right out of the box I can connect to the network via the browser but nothing comes up as far as actually connecting to the device over the local network. Working with Seagate we can confirm that the device is operating and can be discovered at its MAC. Seagate points its finger at ZA (of course) as being the reason I cannot get the NAS on my HomeGroup.
Instructions recommend DHCP. And in a short while I will want it to serve data on the web & receive large file downloads. (It can handle VIFS, FTP, & NFS).
Even with ZA off I cannot get through. Ideas?

Version of ZA Extreme? Is IPv6 enabled under the advanced options of the ZA firewall (it should be by default if you run the latest version) ? Have you added your NAS IP to the firewall trusted zone? Is the ZA trusted zone set to MEDIUM (and not HIGH)? Do you see anything blocked under the ZA logs and alerts section? Are your DNS and DHCP added to the firewall trusted zone?

The above are all settings that may help resolving the issue, if the ZA is the culprit.

After disabling ZA on start up, rebooting, I found that the NAS had been found as a network device. I re-enabled ZA and it has stayed. I have NOT yet figured out how to get the NAS to show up as a Hard Drive yet, but at least I've part of the way.

This has serious impacts on the security of ZA that can be easily tampered and rendered useless without the user noticing it. Malware clean up can also be affected since for persistent pests ZA may need a reboot (and if it is disabled it will not be able).
