I read the reasons for the Privacy tab being removed from ZA products, although I was one that was happy with what this tab's controls could do. My question is what is the best way to block ads now that the Privacy tab is gone?
I have read that ZA's Firewall Zones can be used to prevent domains and IP addresses from loading, although I have had mixed results when it comes to blocking ads. For years I have been adding entries to my PC's Hosts file to block websites, but will block the entire website when the ad resides on the website owner's server. I also use Internet Explore 8's Privacy tab (set to Meduim-High, block Pop-Ups, and I add sites to be blocked). However it seems that some site's ads ignore these settings. Lastly, some have suggested using IE7Pro to block ads. The IE7Pro product has been recently updated, but I do not know how well it works with IE8 and how reputable/trustworhty this provider is. I do not want to load software from questionable providers.
Please provide suggestions on how to use ZASS's settings in version 9.3.014.000 to block ads. I am also interested in other stable services offered by reputable companies that can help me get back to ad-free web surfing.
FYI, I have ZASS 9.3.014.000, Windows XP SP3, and Internet Explorer 8.
Thank you in advance,
