Default Since Upgrading ZA - I am told I have a Bot!

I upgraded Zonealarm Pro to 9.3.014.000 and then could not get onto my favourite website www.mycockpit.org. The admin at that site told me that their log said

    --------------------------------------------------
Access denied with code 501 (phase 2). Match of "rx ^((??:POS|GE)T|OPTIONS|HEAD))$" against "REQUEST_METHOD" required. [file "/usr/local/apache/conf/modsec2.user.conf"] [line "41"] [id "#######"] [msg "Method is not allowed by policy"] [severity "CRITICAL"] [tag "POLICY/METHOD_NOT_ALLOWED"]

There is something running in the background in your computer trying to get into our server. If you notice above, it's trying to access "/usr/local/apache/conf/modsec2.user.conf". Our server security stops the attack and locks out your IP, obviously at the time you're connected to MyCockpit.org you are not aware of it.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I loaded a backup image of my C drive from a date well prior to the ZA upgrade, thinking that would remove the bot, all was then fine until I upgraded Zonealarm, when the old problem has returned

    What is happening here?

    Hi!
I never heard of ZA having the ability to open a certain apache file.

Assuming is ZA, I would first try to install ZAPRO with default settings. Fully remove your current ZA and install the latest version without touching any default.

Try now to see if you experience the same problem.

If you have still problems, try slowly to disable feature in ZA to look for the culprit. I would first start disabling the web browser toolbar (if any in ZAPRO).

Thanks for fast response and I will try your suggestion, though this will require great patience by admin at the website as they keep having to reset my account!

    You're welcome!

To avoid problems with the site you may want to suggest the admin there to try ZAPRO directly. All ZA products have 30 days trial with full features.

It may be easier they test it directly. It will be quicker and exclude any eventual problems on your end.

They can download the latest ZAPRO from here:

The only thing that might be the issue is the tool bar in ZAP.

It checks the website your surfing to be sure its safe.

Maybe the company who hosts this site has web sever software thats very sensitive to that?

It would be the first time that has ever happened.

So install ZAP and don't install the tool bar this time.
