Thread: updating problem

    Default updating problem

    i have been trying to update my copy of za extreme security all morning to ZASPSetup_93_014_000_en .
    each time i get to approx 5%, after it deletes the older version, i get the message GLBDD83.tmp (or simular) stopped working and will close.
    windows then tells me there was an address problem with mcarfee virus scan (which is not on my system)
    im then left with no security and no network connection and have to reload the old version using the backup disc (trying to load an earlier update gives the same response.
    i have tried using the removal tool with no success.
    any ideas????

    Hi!

    try to run this utility to remove any left overs of otehr security tools:
    http://www.appremover.com/

    Then look for specific ZA left overs and be sure to remove them all, follow all steps as detailed here:

    I cannot find or run the ZoneAlarm uninstall program (XP/2000)
    I cannot find or run the ZoneAlarm uninstall program (Vista)

    Then reinstall ZA.

    Sorry that did not work for you,

    I suggest that your Followup with the Official ZA Tech Support as a user of a paid version of Zone Alarm (the service is Free)

    Click on the Support link in my signature..

    Please provide them with a little more information about your computer configuration and what steps you took to reproduce the problem??

    Also provide:

    What Type of ZA and ZA version you have installed
    PC CPU speed
    PC Brand Name
    Laptop or Desktop
    PC memory Size
    Windows OS version including Service packs Update
    Version of any other Security software installed.
    Exactly what is done to reproduce the issue in the application.

    It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country,
    without All the Details,without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..
