Default Is Zone Alarm suitable for my Netbook processor type? >Try before you BUY

    Hello,

I have a Asus netbook "EeePC 1005P" that has the following processor:
"Intel Atom CPU N450 1.66 GHz, 1.67 GHz".

Is Zone Alarm suitable for this processor?
Would the system be significantly slowed by running Zone Alarm?

(It has 1GB DDR 2 RAM at the moment, which I hope to increase to 2 GB.)

I look forward to receiving help with this.

    Regards,

    Robert Goodwin.

ZA Free may run slower on your Netbook depending on the version of Windows (XP/Vista or Windows 7 Home Eddition) you have installed and the available Hard drive size and resouces available..

System Minimum Requirements for ZoneAlarm Free:

    Microsoft® Windows® 7*:
    32-bit / 64-bit , 2 GB RAM
    2 GHz or faster processor
    250MB of available hard-disk space

Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 or SP2 Business / Home Premium / Ultimate:
    32-bit / 64-bit, 2 GB RAM
    2 GHz or faster processor
    250MB of available hard-disk space

Microsoft Windows, XP SP3 Home / Professional
    32-bit, 1GB RAM
    1 GHz or faster processor
    250MB of available hard-disk space

We have tested on netbooks with this typical CPU and memory.

Suite is probably the highest you want to go and do not install the tool bar.

In Extreme ForceField can really bog down the little Atom processor.

ZAAV would be a good middle of the road choice (dont install the toolbar).

Also if your netbook can be upgraded. 2MB of memory goes a long way to make it run better.

We have a Dell that came with the same configuration and we upgraded the memory ourselves because it could handle the extra memory even though Dell does not sell in in that configuration.

In any case download and use our software as a 30 day trial and see how it works for you. Your results may not be the same as ours.

    Dear Forum Moderator,

Please could you let me know what you mean when you say:

"Suite is probably the highest ....".

Are you referring to options within ZA Custom install?
    Please clarify.

(In my original message I forgot to mention that my netbook runs "Windows 7 Starter", so I mention it now in case this make a difference.)

    Regards,

    Robert

    Hello,

When I say suite is the highest, I mean I would not recommend Extreme as far as how our products as ordered by features and functions.

And its my personal opinion you don't install the toolbar so a custom install should be selected to not install that.

You can try it. I'm not saying it wont work altogether but its just a suggestion.

So before you BUY our software try different versions to see what works best on your netbook for 30 days before buying. You dont want to buy it with our trying for 30 days then finding it sluggish or slows your netbook down too much.

It will slow it down some and thats to be expected but just depends if your can live with it or not.
