    Default Windows 7 Pro BSOD

Had this problem with the beta a while back. Switched to Vipre and now back to Zone Alarm Extreme and the same problem.

On Fri 9/3/2010 11:20:02 PM your computer crashed
This was likely caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe
    Bugcheck code: 0x7F (0x8, 0x80050033, 0x6F8, 0xFFFFF80002A85D28)
    Error: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
    Dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\090310-12916-01.dmp
    file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

According to google this is common with Zone Alarm. Any ideas.

    Thanks.....Mike

Not really since very few post are related to BSOD. For sure is not a widespread issues and with google you can find virtually any kind of problem.. lol.

Follow all steps as suggested here:
    [SOLVED] Win 7 / 64 - BSOD - ZA Extreme 9.3

Note that if you have still problems try what suggested here, but only after having done what suggested before:
    [WORKAROUND] Windows 7 64 bit, Zonealarm Extreme 9.3.014.000 - BSOD error 7f

Finally, you should report the issue and how to replicate it to ZA technical support at the link in my signature since we are all users here.

    Thanks,
    Fax

I've been having the same problem and the same code. Computer randomly shuts down for no reason, with no BSOD just shuts down or restarts. Sometimes freezes. Got the above debug code and tracked it to ZA through Google. Will try the workaround and see if it works for me.

I just want to throw in that I had what looks like the same problem (Win 7 Pro, Bugcheck code: 7f, UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP) and it was solved by disabling NetBIOS via the procedure in the second link in fax's reply. I've been running bluescreen-free for a month now.

This same problem and solution came up in this other thread (posts #1 and #4, respectively) which I just noticed is the first sticky in this forum. Looks like it's relatively common. I really hope ZoneAlarm gets on a fix for it since I don't want to have to switch anti-viruses.

There may be a chance to get it fixed only if you actually report the issue to the official ZA technical support and work with them to troubleshoot the issue. Reporting it here will have little or no effect since we are all users.

More users report the issue to ZA, more likely this is escalated to development.

    Thanks,
