    Default TrueVector

I am trying to boot up my computer that is running Windows XP with ZoneAlarm Security Suite. I am getting this error message:

" TrueVector Service has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I close it and it appears I am in a loop. Do you know how to fix it. I did a search on the internet and it says TrueVector is a ZoneAlarm tool.

    Thanks
    Bruce

    Hi!

vsmon is the main driver of ZA governing the ZA antivirus and ZA firewall.

Try a reset of the ZA settings:

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

If the above fails, remove ZA (add/remove a program from your OS) and reinstall the latest version. www.zonealarm.com/zasuitedownload/

Thanks for replying. My computer won't boot up. As soon as I see the error message I click not to send error message to MicroSoft and then about 10 seconds later I get the error message again. I am in a loop and can't boot up. There is no ZA near my clock. I also have the latest version of ZoneAlarm. I think I downloaded it one or two months ago when my subscription ran out and I renewed.

    Thanks

Boot in SAFE MODE, see link below how to proceed:
I cannot find or run the ZoneAlarm uninstall program (XP/2000)
This way ZA will be fully removed. Then re-install the latest version at the link already given.

    Guru,

Thanks for your help. I put it in SafeMode, deleted ZoneAlarm and then installed it. I then scanned my computer and it found multipacked.multi.generic malware in a game that my son downloaded at least 5 years ago. Zonealarm quarantined it. I have always had Zonealarm and why didn't previous versions detect it?

It could be a false positive.
