    Unhappy OSRBang.exe IS IT VALID?!

    Location: C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\Diagnostics
Description: OSR Bang - The OSR crash on demand.
Company: OSR Open Systems Resources, inc.
    Version: 2.1.0.0
Date Created: 19/9/10 17:54 (Same time i turned on my PC) **GMT +00**
    Size: 66Kb

This file seems suspicious and for some reason my Zone Alarms Extreme Security Avti-virus/Anti-spyware is turned off and will not turn back on to scan or update. ''Fix it'' button does nothing, i have had this problem before a few days ago i had to re-install and it was fine, this time however it was still playing up. I have got it back working again but what if it happens again i want to know what is causing this and how can i stop it? Can anybody help me with this problem. It may not be this file but it is the only one that looks out of place.

Opp. System: Windows XP Proffesional 32 bit
ZA Product: Zone Alarms Extreme Security
    ZA Version: 9.3.037.000
Happened about 8 days ago (Approximatly)
Had free version no problems, bought extreme and already infected was working fine for about 10 days after buying.

    Thanks.

Yes, it is valid. It is used for testing purpose
No, its not linked to any updating. It should show dated modified 6 July 2009.

For support on the issue of the antivirus I would recommend to contact ZA technical support directly at the link in my signature.

If you had been infected by malware your system may have been damaged and cause instability issues affecting ZA.

    - Ensure you system is up to date. Check with this here

    - Ensure you are not running any conflicting software. ZAX does not play nice with many other security tools. They may block its correct functioning including updates. For example, spyware doctor, spysweeper, trojan hunter, win patrol, PCtools Threat Fire, Mcafee, Norton, Symantec, Adaware, SpybotS&D, WinPatrol, AVG, Avast free, NOD, Kaspersky, Comodo, Rising, PC Doctor, MS Security Essential, AVIRA and many others. If you want to troubleshoot issues with ZA please remove these tools (not enough to disable) and install back (if you really need) only after you see your ZA is working as it should. Double check you have really removed all other security tools by running this utility
    http://www.appremover.com/

    - Clean your system and registry with ccleaner.com
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/slim

It would be probably wise to start from scratch and re-format/re-install the system.

    Cheers,
