    Default How to remove ForceField?

I use FireFox (latest 3.6 version).
Zone Alarm Extreme 9.3.014.000. Forced update and told none available.

Forcefield is always causing problems. I can not see the toolbar, regardless of how I have it checked in FF. I can not uninstall it either as a FF Add-on or through Win7 Uninstall.

How do I get this ~~snip~~ off my computer?

If I have to uninstall Firefox and Zone alarm, I probably won't bother installing ZA again. It just ain't worth the hassle.

    Hi!
to turn OFF forcefield protection go to ZA browser security section and click OFF.

To troubleshoot issue with Firefox and Forcefield see here:
Reset Firefox / Reset when using ForceField

For all relevant solution to problems see here:
README FIRST: ForceField Toolbar - Common Resolutions to Problems

If you don't see firefox toolbar remember also to check this:
Switching to short toolbar in Firefox

Normally the issue with firefox and forcefield are linked to not turning OFF forcefield during firefox or firefox plug-in updates:
Update Options for Firefox when using ForceField

Finally, if you are licensed user of ZA Extreme, you can contact, free of charge, the ZA technical support at the link in my signature (we are all users here)

    Thanks Fax. ~~snip~~

After repeating all steps twice, I still have this problem. The problem is not just in Firefox but also in IE.
I will try ZA Tech support as I am a licensed user.
    ~~snip~~

    Again, my thanks.

    You're welcome!

if you don't see the toolbar in IE then also try this:

    1. Disable "Browser Security" through ZoneAlarm GUI

    2. Run registry editor and delete key: {93711F64-F9D7-4f1d-B013-21E88CB69D8A} from this locations:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Ext\Stats
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Ext\Settings

    3. Manually delete #ISW.FS# folder from C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming.

    4. Enable "Browser Security" in ZoneAlarm GUI.

    Cheers,
    Fax
P.S. Are you running any security tools? Do you have any ad-hoc install location for firefox? Do you run any add-on in Firefox and IE or specific skin? These are all elements that could (or could not) conflict with forcefield

I see you are using Win7, so are you using IE 8?

In any case, this is for XP and IE8; it is probably also necessary in Vista/Win 7 and IE8 as well. If the toolbar is not showing in IE, then go to "Internet Properties" and then the "Advanced" tab. Scroll down to where it says "Enable third-party browser extensions" and be sure it has a checkmark. If it didn't, then after you place one, close IE and restart it. Then see if the Forcefield toolbar is now present in IE.

As for Firefox, are you by any chance using NoScript add-on, and is it updated to latest version? I wonder if the anti-javascript functions of NoScript can affect the Forcefield Toolbar.

I discovered an incompatibility between the Forcefield part of ZAES and my system (probably my i7 950, or my network chipset). After a conversation with customer support (very polite and rapidly responsive, Thanks!), I was informed that an uninstallation program for the Forcefield part of ZA is located within the "\Checkpoint\Forcefield" directory. After running that program, which completely uninstalled the Forcefield component, but left the rest of ZA, my system runs flawlessly. If you've tried all of the suggestions here, and just want to not mess with the FF component entirely, there is an option.

Thank you! For completeness could you please specify what you had to run to remove Forcefield? This will help greatly less unexperienced users in the process of removing FF.

    Thanks,

The uninstallation program I mentioned above that completely removes FF without uninstalling the entire ZAES package is "Uninstall.exe". The entire location is...

    \CheckPoint\ZAForceField\Uninstall.exe

The drive where this directory is located is the same drive that ZAES resides.

Glad I could help some people overcome this little problem so that ZAES can continue to be the useful tool that it is.
