Question EventWnd problem on Netbook with ZA Free

When I shut down my Netbook I get a message 'End program - EventWnd' If I let it finish I then get 'End Now' & the computer will then shut down if 'End Now' is accepted. However if I first stop Zonealarm ( the free version ) before trying to shut down there are no messages & the PC then shuts down O.K.
There is no similar problem with my main PC which is running the same ZoneAlarm firewall & with the same Windows XP.
There has been some discussion & suggested solutions elsewhere. None have worked for me. Can anyone help please ?

    Hi!
I only know this thread about it with a solution that worked for the user:
    http://forums.zonealarm.com/showthread.php?t=69286

You may need to reinstall fully the OS, update with all patches, service packs and NET options and then install ZA.
