Unhappy New DIR-655 not connecting to DSL

I am trying to change from my old DIR-624 to a DIR-655.

When I connect the new router it can not connect to the internet.

Is my ZAP stopping it from connecting?

Normally not, since ZA is after the router and not before. Probably some router configuration?
Was it working before? If yes, what did you change in settings or set-up? May be its just a small missing settings?

Try to describe better your setup, ZA used, OS, etc... more information you give more likely other users here may guess your problem.

I have been using ZAP with my DIR-624 router under Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.

When I turn off the pc and plug in the new router, into the same ports with the same cables, Windows sees the router. But can not connect to the internet.

I am using the latest ZAP, Windows has all of it's updates and the firmware on the DIR-655 is the latest from the Dlink site.

If I plug back in the old router I can get on the internet as before. Plugging in the new router does not see it at all.

The light that shows that I am connected does not light.

    Hi!

Not sure I follow how you connect. Where does the internet line comes from? The router?

A simple test to perform: right click the ZA icon near the clock and choose "shutdown ZoneAlarm....". Wait a minute.... Does it connects now? If not, its not ZA causing problems.

My dsl connection goes from the dsl modem to the wan connector and the pc connects to the lan connector. I also have a pc in another room connected to it wireless with the DIR-624.

When I connect the same wires to the DIR-655 it does not connect to the internet.

But when I look at the network settings with Windows 7 and the new router turned on, but not connected, it and the old router are seen.

I have turn off ZAP and I still can not connect.

Uuuhm... considering is not ZA (you may even try to remove ZA to double check) I would try to post a message at the dlink forum and ask for support. http://forums.dlink.com/

This is because probably you get a faster and more focused response than us guessing what could be the problem.
