Your Main problem is that you need to Upgrade ZA Extreme to 9.3.037.000
You running a very old version of ZAX that was designed to work with Firefox 3.5//

cyberjunkie, before installing the Firefox upgrade did you go into Forcefield settings (advanced tab) and clear the Forcefield virtual data cache, then turn off virtual browsing (remove the tickmark from "enable virtualization"), and then turn off Forcefield program? Then once Firefox is upgraded, re-start Forcefield program and then re-enable the virtual browsing. I usually then re-boot as well to make that everything auto-starts like I've selected. I like to do all of that process above while disconnected from the Internet until I'm sure everything is up and running OK.

I had this problem yesterday with the new Firefox 3.6.10 (up to date ZoneAlarm Extreme on Windows 7) - Firefox would not open after updating.

Doing what critterjoe suggested above worked and Firefox back up and running. [This hadn't been a problem for me in previous Firefox updates.]

    Hi, I'm back.

Sorry I couldn't respond sooner. Apparently I didn't subscribe to this thread via email.

Thanks GeorgeV, for the link. I'm gonna bookmark this thread.

Also, thanks critterjoe, for the tip.

I'm having some other computer problems right now-- noise in HD or CPU fan and difficulty connecting online with wifi USB modem to wifi DSL.

I gonna see what I can do, and upgrade ZAX later, along with FireFox reinstall.

    Again, thx every1.

    gotta go,
    CJ

Having got it going OK, have now noticed that some sites (e.g. BBC iplayer) do not work properly unless virtulization is disabled. Everthing worked fine with previous versions of Firefox, so seems something to do with these latest updates to firefox.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks
