Default deamon tools error workaround --> disable forcefield

Hi all I have been trying to get deamon tools to work with za extreme but kept getting spd error I had a dig around on here and found out it was to do with forcefield that is part of extreme ,but cannot be uninstalled like on internet sec , I tried disabling web browser security and that didnt work! so I then went to msconfig and on the services tab I found forcefield! I unticked it and restarted and bingo I now had deamon tools working, hope this helps others cheers all.

    Hi!

just a word of caution for other readers. Your workaround disable effectively forcefield. Considering that ZA Extreme main strenght is forcefield, it cannot really be recommended.

On the other hand, daemon tools developers are working on a fix.

Anyhow, as some security software developers aren't willing to address those issues (or at least it has low priority) the DT team will finally sort this out by releasing their future products with the option to not use the SPTD access layer.

So watch out for a demon tool update at their site.

    Cheers,

I understand that forcfield is a good addition but incompatable with deamon tools which a lot of people use for virtual drives, I only recomend temp use of this work around until the fix is released but at least now I can use both programs and recomend that when deamon tools isnt reqired then re enable forcfield to continue getting full protection from your za Xtreame.

Of course you understand. The message was not really directed to you but other users here that may get the wrong impression that your workaround works both way. It is just one way ... DT or FF and viceversa

Alternatively you can use other free virtual drives software that have no problem with forcefield (just google for it). For example, this.
