Default web server on my comp

    Hi

If I want to have a web server on my comp (port 80 or 8080), I must switch Internet Zone Security from High to Med. My question is what exactly do this switching?

And second question: Why I have no new record in firewall log If I have Internet Zone Security switch set to High, and trying open a page (or check port 80/8080 via http://www.canyouseeme.org/) on my comp behind the ZA Firewall? Access denied to web server but no entry in ZA log.

I use Zone Alarm Free Firewall 9.2, Windows 7 32-bit.

    Hi!

sorry, as far as I am aware ZAfree does not support server type setup and you cannot open specific ports.

Actually yes you can run Apache Web server on your computer. Or even XAMMP, Just go to zonealarm and open the Program button then add the Apache Server, Mercury Mail FTP server programs. The free version will not let you set ports like Generic Host Process for Win32 Services was blocked from accepting a connection from the Internet (192.168.0.1:Port 49154). this is a severe limation as mercury mail and many other services use port routing. However Apache and Mysql work fine.
