    Default Problems Using Spotify since upgrade

    Hi All, a Newbie here so be gentle with me!

    I upgraded my free version of ZoneAlarm a couple of days ago to I am running Windows XP Home Edition.

    Since the upgrade I get lots of crackling when trying to listen to Spotify. If I shut ZoneAlarm down the crackling goes away.

    I have tried enabling 'Allow uncommon protocols at high security' but this doesn't make a difference.

    Is there a way of reverting back to the previous version. Am happy to uninstall and reinstall the previous version but could somebody point me towards where I could download the previous version from? Thanks.

    It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country, without All the Details,without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..

    You did not say if your Computer Win XP is fully Upgraded with Service Pack 3 and the 100's of Microsoft Updates after SP3, or anything else about your computer, or list any other Security programs installed ?

    This sounds like a problem with Limited Resources on your Computer..

    Newer Programs and Upgraded progressively get bigger and use more memory and Resources to keepup with newer computers..

    1.) Here is a link to older versions of ZA Free..

    ZoneAlarm free updates

    2.) Before you Uninstall your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview - Preferences tab)

    3.) Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory

    4.) Now Uninstall Zone Alarm using Windows Uninstall or on Windows 7 , Control Panel/Uninstal a program option.

    5.) Now Install the new update (clean Install) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..

    Apologies, I am a newbie and not that technical!

    Its Windows XP Home Edition 2000 with Service Pack 3.

    Its quite old now (the PC), so your assumption that it may be that my computer is flagging with all the latest updates of everything on it may well have hit the nail on the head!

    Thanks for the pointers on how to revert to the previous version.
